Comfort food on a cold rainy day

I tend to feel blue on a rainy day..I can just lie on my bed doing nothing because the weather is moody and chilling..To ward off the chill, I love sipping on a cup of hot chocolate, or having something warm..

A bowl of hot miso soup with carrots and tofu

Or crispy roti canai will do..I use to buy every single brand of roti canai but eventually I settle down with this one..Kawan's roti canai is simply the best, and the second ranking goes to Carrefour's one..

I need some hot curry (Dhal) to complement my roti

It's so easy..Just throw the packet into hot boiling water..Dun worry the plastic container won't melt and you won't die of chemical poison..

Pan fry it without oil

Add in a slice of cheese and let it melt..

Its your time to replenish with great warm drinks and comfort food too. Enjoy!

Birthday Celebration for KampungBoy @ Galaxy KTV

CityGal and KampungBoy
e
It is so sweet for KampungBoy's coursemates to have an early birthday celebration for him. His birthday falls on 8th of May and coincidently it will be the first day of study week when everyone will be quite busy that time.
r
They had a big surprise ahead of him and they "pakat-ed" me as part of the surprise. I have to bluff that I won't be able to go with him for some reason while his friend arranged another car for me about one hour later. While I was in the car, he sms-ed me and say "Sien! Forgot to bring camera coz never thought of they are having celebration with me! Wish you were here too". I just can't stop laughing because he's still not aware of the disasters awaiting him..

I bought him a bouquet of daisies..Reason? Coz orange colour daisies look more Macho than roses or what so ever flowers..

Pretty Girls from Faculty of Management..

Good Looking Accountants..Heartthrobs?

Surprise Part 2..While my arrival has caught his attention, his friends slam-bang the cake hard on his face..And a war of the cakes and creams happened in the KTV room..The girls have to do the cleaning up silently without the staff notice..SShhhhh

Poor cake gone into waste

Blueberry Cheesecake from Berry's..Not nice one..

Buffet Time! It's such a great deal at RM 10! Look at the varieties but do not expect too much since it's only 10 bucks. The desserts are nice to see but not nice to swallow. We voted the assam prawns, sotong lemak and baked mussels as the best food around!

Steamboat with Bakuteh Soup Base

You can spot this place easily as it is located beside the famous Kaki Corner at Taman Billion. They are having a new opening promotion with RM9.90 per head and hence we decide to give it a try. This place was full with patrons the time we went. Hmmmm..bak kut teh steamboat is distinctive from other ordinary steamboat and it sounds new to us! You can read more about this place from The Star Kuali.

Their dippings..Nothing to shout about..Still prefer those from Coca or BBQ Plaza..

Portion for 5..Quite big huh?? It's worth it with only RM9.90 per head during promotional period (last until 30 april)

We had both bkt and tomyam soup base..I think they have tone down the herbally taste of bakuteh..It tastes funny at the first bite because I'd never had chicken, fishball, tofu, crabsticks with BKT soup..But it tastes better and better that I can't stop chewing!

YeeMee is a great match with BKT Soup!! Trust me!!

Fried Bean Curd..My hokkien friend called it "Tau Kee"

Enoki Mushroom which comes seperately RM 7.50 per portion..Love this one as its so crispy..We made a dirty joke out of this but I won't tell you! Blek

Kajang Satay Revisited and Thai Fair @ South City Plaza

I forgot whether this is my fifth or sixth visit to Kajang for Satays. Well, that is not so important, as long as I can remember my very FED UP visit this time. Still remember that I give very good review on Kajang Sate Hj Samuri for my past visit that my friend thought that I receive some form of compensation?
Initially, we planned to get into the shaded area because the outdoor area is kind of smoky and my housemate has asthma. However, they blocked us from entering because they just mop the floor and they doesnt want to repeat their work for second time. It's only 9 pm ok?
One thing I couldn’t understand is why the owner hire so many workers with so little work for them around the place (Utilization of Human Resource is so important)? Most of them sit there doing nothing, smoking and flirting with some girls. Worst of all, they shifted their seats and stick their butt in front of us, stare at us from head to toe that we (the girls) have to swap places with the guys.

I ordered 20 chicken satays for take away. When I go down to collect my take aways, they give me 30 satays and sort of force me to pay for it. No way! I insisted that I wan 20 and I paid for it while swearing inside my heart.
They raised their price silently too. A chicken or beef satay costs rm 0.60 now and a lamb satay costs rm0.90.
Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures because I'm very noob in flashing my camera in very dark place. What kind of mode should I use instead of just ON the flash? You can refer to my previous post for some really nice pictures to get you drools.

We spotted Thai Fair again! We were too full after the Mexim Dim Sum so we share a bowl of Tom Yam. Satisfying

Above: Steamed tapioca cake, Udang Golong and Popiah

Thai Fair in South City Plaza will lasts until 1st of May. Their next stop will be at Amcorp Mall till 1st of June.

Mexim Dim Sum @ Seri Kembangan (Non Halal)

What can you do on a lovely Sunday morning? It is designated as family day for me way back in Ipoh. But I have Kampungboy as a replacement of my family in KL. I dragged him to this dim sum place at Seri Kembangan before our grocery shopping and hair trimming session. Mexim has another branch at Puchong, read EatinOut's post on this particular outlet.

Steamed Pork Ribs - WE LOVE THIS!

Prawn Dumpling (Har Gao) - Big and juicy prawns inside, but the skin is a bit too thick.

Siew Mai with Roe as toppings

Forgot the name but this one has a strong herbally smell of wolf berry. Not Bad!

Fried Dumplings. Six in a plate. KampungBoy sapu all because he loves mayonnise dippings.

Stir Fried Raddish Cake. I still prefer those from Connought Pasar Malam as this one taste blunt.

I know I cant compare all these to the famous Ipoh Dim Sum. So Maxim is not a bad choice for me when it comes to dim sum. We willl definitely come back again if the crave of dim sum hit us suddenly!
