T.G.I Friday's @ One Utama
Few weeks ago, we went there for a birthday occassion. This was my second visit to the One Utama outlet. The menu is extensive, the environment is fun and the serving staffs are extensive. Everyone seems to opt for the Jack Daniel's Grill items as it never fails to dissappoint us. CK and me had the 3 course meal @ RM 39.90 with a choice of appetiser, mains and desserts. Overall, the food was mediocre, nothing to shout about and no complains.

Lorong Seratus Tahun Curry Mee @ SS2
Everyone has been trooping to a hawker stall in
Fu Chow FishBall (RM4.5) The Hockchew fish ball with minced pork filling is not impressive too. Frankly speaking, the curry mee was not on par to the Penang's stall but nevertheless service was good and we had a good chat with the waiters. Do visit this please if you need to get your cravings for lorong seratus curry mee fixed (without high expectations).

Day Long Birthday Celebration for KampungBoy
That night, when the clock strikes 12, I knocked on his door with his favourite marbel cheese cake. The cake was a last minute thing, because he was with me all day long and I can't even sneaked out to get him a cake. My housemate did me a favour by getting me two slices of cheese cake from Secret Recipe.
The candles were lit, he was told to close his eyes, he made a wish and he blew out the candles. The birthday boy resorted back to his B-O-O-K-S after that, it was a stressful exam week after all.
The honey lemon sea coconut (RM 3.2) was refreshing. We opted for the Set for Two (RM 28), inclusive of thai styled chicken, tom yam soup, mango fish fillet and salted fish vegetables. Famished and inordinately greedy, we ordered dried shrimps buttered soft shell crab (RM 16) too.
Overall the food was not too bad, how can you get wrong with zest and flavor of sweet, sourish and spicy food ? Everyone loves it. Dapur Nyonya is not an authentic Nyonya place with Nyonya dishes like pongteh and perut ikan missing from the menu. The menu is more like the mixture of thai and chinese for me. Anyway, nowadays good food has no boundaries with fusion of taste that transcends and excites right? Total bill comes about RM 60 which is very reasonable and service is great too. I told him that it has been ages since we went to a live unplugged music place. Without hesitate, we headed to Wings Cafe Equine Park right after dinner. Actually, his friends were having a little surprise birthday celebration for him over there.

Wong Ah Wah Chicken Wing & Frog Porridge @ Jalan Alor
Being a KL road-blind ourselves, it is a stressful event to drive around the city without any guides or maps on hand. Usually we would avoid entering into KL at all cost, good food is an exceptional case of course. Once a road notorious as Red Light District, Jalan Alor has emerged with the name of Wai Sek Kai (glutton street) with shabby stalls offering good hawker food all over.
Meng Kee is famous for their grilled seafood. The grilled ikan pari is done in different way, the skin is crispy and the flesh remain juicy as seen in Lyrical Lemongrass review. We were early and the seafood is not even defrosted!!
Few steps after Meng Kee is Restoran Sai Woo, famous for their delicious pork mee suah. Again, we were too early and the piggy is not even slaughter yet.
We tried 1+1 dim sum and wantan mee before, so it is always better to reserve some space for new choices.
Here we are, Wong Ah Wah who made a really big name for themselves as the best grilled chicken wings in town. The waiter lead us to an air conditioned place where everyone is having tai chow dishes. It is a bit embarassing to order nothing but chicken wings but we did so eventually.
We had one dozen of these juicy and scrumptious chicken wings. I'm expecting some sweetness from the honey coated chicken wing, but surprisingly it is savoury with some taste of shao xing or wine?? The chicken wings are grilled to perfection and well marinate. Can I have this everyday??
Frog Porridge for the brave at heart. Some of my friends were pulled off from this delicacies because of gross looking frogs (tin kai). It is not hard to spot this No-Name stall as they are the only one who offer frog porridge.
Frog Porridge for Two filled up our stomach instantly.Great stuff if you like eating amphibians
